The SMART program provides compensation for renewable solar energy generation. The SMART program was developed by the Massachusetts Department of Energy Resources (DOER) in partnership with the Electric Distribution Companies (Eversource, National Grid, and Unitil) to support the development of solar electricity in Massachusetts.
